Darian Dozier + OnlineMedEd

"Finally, an uncomplicated way to learn medicine!"

About Me:

My name is Darian Dozier and I am a third-year medical osteopathic medical student at Sam Houston State University College of Osteopathic Medicine. I am originally from Kansas City, and went to school at the University of Tulsa in Tulsa, OK. My passion of serving people in underserved communities has driven my desire to be a physician, and is also the basis of a majority of my research projects. Outside of school, I am a writer with my own blog called Melanated and Meducated where I give advice on how to get into med school, as well as share my own journey of being in medical school. Additionally, I love posting on social media, hanging out with friends and traveling whenever I can get away from medical school!

How I use OnlineMedEd:

I use OME as a way to supplement my learning of clinical knowledge. Unfortunately, I was unfamiliar with OME when I started medical school, but when. I began my clinical rotations, I used it for every one. The way Dr. Williams breaks down the material and gives you high-yield chunks is invaluable going into the shelf exams. For some rotations, I’ll do the readings, and for others, I’ll just watch the videos. I love answering the content questions at the end, and although I’m not a flashcard student, I have plenty of friends who are and love the flashcard feature of OME. As I prepare for my STEP 2/COMLEX 2 exams, I will absolutely be referring back to the OME videos to help score some extra points.
